Hi all,
I have some problems when using multicast addresses on the loopback
interface :
> ping6 -I lo ff02::1
connect: Network is unreachable
On FreeBSD it works well :
> ping6 -I lo0 ff02::1
PING6(56=40+8+8 bytes) fe80::1%lo0 --> ff02::1
16 bytes from fe80::1%lo0, icmp_seq=0 hlim=64 time=0.188 ms
This problem occurs with vanilla kernel and with the latest usagi-patch
I supposed fixing multicast routes on the loopback should fix it, but
it does not work either :
> ip -f inet6 route add ff00::/8 dev lo
> ip -f inet6 route show | grep ff00
ff00::/8 dev eth1 metric 256 expires 21325134sec mtu 1500 advmss
1440 metric 10 4294967295
ff00::/8 dev eth0 metric 256 expires 21325134sec mtu 1500 advmss
1440 metric 10 4294967295
unreachable ff00::/8 dev lo metric 1024 expires 21334349sec error
-101 mtu 16436 advmss 16376 metric 10 4294967295
Does someone have a clue ?
I am actually trying to run the latest version of wide-dhcpv6 on the
loopback interface.
